  • Capsules, private media, voice notes, text content, comments and reactions.
  • Friend relationships, invitations and sharing settings.
  • Notification settings and device tokens used to send push notifications when enabled.
  • Location data used to create, open or search for capsules and to power opt-in proximity alerts.

How we use data

  • To authenticate users and operate Capsule accounts.
  • To create, store, share and open private capsules.
  • To check whether a capsule can be opened based on proximity.
  • To send notifications if the user enables them.
  • To provide support, protect the service, prevent abuse and maintain security.

Sharing

  • Capsule does not sell personal data.
  • Data may be shared with technical service providers strictly when needed, such as hosting providers or push notification services if notifications are enabled.
  • Content is shared only with the people selected by the user, according to the capsule’s access settings.

Location

  • Capsule does not store a continuous movement history.
  • Location is used only for the Capsule features that require it, such as creating, opening or discovering capsules.
  • Background location is optional and opt-in only.

Media

  • Private media is protected and is not served from a public folder.
  • Access to media is limited according to the user’s sharing settings and app permissions.

Your rights

  • You can request an export of your data.
  • You can delete your account and associated capsules, media and profile data.
  • You can delete capsules or media where the app allows it.
  • You can opt out of notifications and background location access in the app or device settings.

Retention and deletion

  • Account deletion deletes the data associated with the account.
  • Limited retention may apply where necessary for legal, security or abuse-prevention reasons.
